Business Situation
In 2021 the Groupon Marketing team came up with a brilliant idea. "How can we cement our reputation as the ultimate experience company?..We have to Hack the Superbowl!" And what better way to do it than by creating the most unforgettable and unique experience by giving one customers and 15 of their friends the chance to watch the big game at Rob Gronkowski's decked out house full of amazing Groupon experiences.
The vision was simple. Create a buzz-worthy campaign that inserted Groupon into the cultural conversation without relying on a traditional TV spot, while establishing the brand as the ultimate experiences provider. I lead the global center of excellence & internal design agency, across the marketing mix and provided strategic oversight for external agency partners.

We developed a microsite that housed the core campaign videos, entry forms, and teaser content— this provided customers a little sneak peak into all the awesome experiences we had in store for them, while driving traffic to the app store to accelerate new app downloads and new customer acquisition.
